Hey! What you reading for?
The latest from TDaPE. 15th October 2023
The End of the World and other things of interest…
Hi Everyone, we’re back once again for the Renegade Master and I’d like to begin by thanking you all for making the newsletter switch with us at the start of October. Hopefully that’s a sign that you like the recommendations we give at the start of most episodes of TDaPE.
This week we’ve got a mix of classics and lesser-known publications covering the application of research in the classroom, reading instruction, direct instruction, Variation Theory, maths planning and much more. There are even a few listens included that you might find interesting once you’ve finished the latest episode of TDaPE*.
*It’s a great episode (in my humble opinion) featuring Neil Gorton and well worth checking out.
The researchED guide to explicit and direct instruction - Adam Boxer and Guests
What does this look like in the classroom? - Carl Hendrick, Robin Macpherson and guests
Stochastic and deterministic views of statistics: A pedagogical perspective - Hanan Innabi, Ference Marton, and Jonas Emanuelsson
The Scientific Principles of Reading Instruction - Nathaniel Hansford
The End of the World - The Boring Talks (Neil suggests that this episode is close read adjacent and worth considering for teachers)
How to plan a maths lesson with Craig Latimir - Craig Barton
That’s all for this week. We’ll be back soon with more recommendations and blog posts that you will, hopefully, find interesting and useful. Until next time, thanks for listening.
